
Versatile Upper Stitcher – Footwear | Permanent Contract (CDI)
Missions:
As a versatile upper stitcher within the Heschung maison’s design office, you will be responsible for producing uppers for prototypes, samples, and special orders.
1. Sample Upper Production
As part of the completion of our two annual collections, you will be in charge of producing sample uppers from start to finish within set deadlines: cutting, preparation, stitching, etc. > Details below.
2. Management of Special Orders
A genuine bespoke service offered to our clients, you will be responsible for crafting uppers for special orders based on customer specifications.
3. First-Choice Upper Production
Depending on operational needs, you may be asked to support the production team in crafting first-choice uppers.
To fulfil these missions, you must be proficient in the following tasks:
- Cutting model pieces using a cutting machine (identifying flaws in the hides, placing and cutting parts) and verifying the cut pieces (model, size).
- Preparing components prior to stitching (splitting, skiving, cementing, etc.).
- Operating various stitching machines (flat-bed, post-bed, zigzag, etc.) and mastering a variety of stitch types (edge stitching, turned seams, parallel, straight, angular or curved seams, reinforcement stitches, etc.).
- Adjusting machines according to the type of leather, thread, and needles used.
- Mastering edge folding, apron stitching, and edge dyeing techniques.
- Stitching components in accordance with operating methods and assembly techniques.
- Assembling linings and applying linings to upper pieces.
- Installing eyelets, hooks, and similar hardware.
- Positioning toe puffs and shaping heel counters.
- Maintaining tools and cleaning the workstation.
Required Skills:
- Solid knowledge of all stages in upper making, particularly stitching.
- Precision and attention to detail.
- Manual dexterity.
- Autonomy and versatility.
