FRENCH SHOEMAKER SINCE 1934

THE HÊTRE BOOT

Halfway between an officer’s boot and a work shoe, the Hêtre model embodies a deliberate duality. Its precise lacing and robust hooks make it a companion that is both functional and elegant.

TRADITION AS A SIGNATURE

Faithful to the house’s heritage, this boot stands out for its authentic Norwegian welt construction, its exceptional leathers - Suportlo or Anilcalf - and its rubber sole stitched through from edge to edge. Every detail reflects meticulous craftsmanship: hand-executed stitching, a bellows tongue, impeccable finishes, and protective padding around the ankle.

WHEN ROBUSTNESS BECOMES SUBTLE

This unisex model asserts a distinctive presence, where the strength of the construction is expressed with subtlety. The lines are deliberately clean, giving way to a balanced, contemporary silhouette. The treatment of the material reveals particular attention to comfort and suppleness, while the enveloping design naturally follows the movement of the foot. Through controlled finishes and a conception intended for everyday wear, this interpretation combines elegance with durability.

TIME AS A REQUIREMENT

Each pair is crafted using traditional techniques passed down from generation to generation. In our workshops, time is a material in its own right: time for precision, for exacting assembly, and for a constant search for balance. It is this quiet discipline that gives rise to shoes designed to last — to be worn, repaired, and passed on.

SUPORTLO CALFSKIN

Since 1934, in Alsace, Heschung has collaborated with the Haas tannery, located just a few kilometres from the workshop. Carrying shared values of authenticity and durability, Suportlo calfskin, combined with the technique of true Norwegian welt construction, gives our shoes their singular character.

Tanned according to an ancestral double-tanning process, mineral then vegetable, Suportlo is drum-dyed and subsequently hot-greased. This treatment provides robustness, structure, and resistance to moisture. A full-grain, uncorrected leather, it retains the natural marks of the hide — the signature of a living, authentic material.
