Celebrating 40 Years of Ginkgo
First introduced in 1986, the Ginkgo ankle boot has continually reinvented itself over the decades, exploring new materials, colours and silhouettes while preserving its distinctive identity.
Forty years on, it continues to transcend eras without losing any of its character. Like the tree from which it takes its name, a symbol of longevity and resilience, the Ginkgo embodies the beauty of enduring craftsmanship.
To mark this anniversary, Heschung presents three interpretations of this iconic ankle boot, each limited to 40 pairs: Signature, Citadine and Outdoor.
Ginkgo | Signature
A true expression of the house’s historic craftsmanship, the Ginkgo Signature showcases the wealth of artisanal expertise behind this iconic design. Crafted entirely from natural Suportlo leather, sourced from the Haas tanneries in Alsace, it is distinguished by its decorative stitching and serrated welt, which highlight Norwegian welt construction, our signature craftsmanship. The Ravel rubber sole completes this interpretation, remaining faithful to the Ginkgo’s distinctive identity.

Ginkgo | Citadine
Designed exclusively for men, the Ginkgo Citadine reveals a more understated and refined expression of this iconic ankle boot. Smooth, polished Box calf leather is paired with a grey wool collar, introducing a subtle contrast and a touch of softness. The leather sole lends a more refined silhouette and a distinctly urban elegance, while preserving the Ginkgo’s unique character.

Ginkgo | Outdoor
The Ginkgo Outdoor reconnects with the world of the great outdoors, an integral part of the house’s heritage. Aquabuck leather, with its waxed appearance and water-repellent properties, lends this interpretation a distinctive character, firmly rooted in the outdoor tradition. The Ravel rubber sole completes the design, combining robustness with authenticity.

Heschung, the beauty of things that last
Since 1934, Heschung has been crafting shoes of character, built to last, in Steinbourg, Alsace.
Over the generations, the house has preserved the gestures, materials, and constructions that have forged its identity. Among them is the Norwegian welt, a legacy of its origins in mountain and ski footwear, which has become one of its signatures.
More than 90 years after its creation, Heschung pursues the same ambition: to envision models anchored in their time, crafted to the highest standards, and designed to accompany everyday life. A certain idea of elegance, made of sincerity, character, and savoir-faire.
