The leather:
Country is a leather that is vegetable-tanned and hot-stuffed using a traditional technique which makes it naturally water resistant and exceptionally supple.
It is made from 2 mm-thick kip butt, the finest part of the hide, which gives it its characteristic plumpness and softness. The grain side has been lightly sanded to create a nubuck effect. The natural oil found in the hide and the vegetable oil added during the tanning process nourish the leather to make it water resistant.
Any unevenness, veining or shading is a genuine hallmark of fine leather that will only improve with age.
Origin:
Country leather is produced in the Tuscan village of Santa Croce by a tannery that specialises in vegetable tanning. Its beauty is a result of the utmost attention to detail that permeates every step of the process.
Care:
Although the leather may acquire a patina over time, please care for your product by keeping it away from direct heat, since vegetable-tanned leather is naturally sensitive to heat and UV light.
Clean with a brush and soapy water then leave to dry before applying a light coat of the HESCHUNG waterproofing spray. Please note that polishing may alter the colour of the leather and smooth out the nubuck finish.
